Ranji Trophy: Bose, Doshi orchastrate Orissa defeat

Century by Gopal Krishna Bose and four wickets in each innings by Dilip Rasiklal Doshi guided Bengal to an innings and 76-run win over Orissa on the last day of their three-day Ranji Trophy East Zone match at Eden Gardens in Calcutta today.

This was Bengal’s 19th win and 15th by an innings in 20 Ranji Trophy matches against Orissa. Put into bat by Orissa captain Arun Patel, Bengal rode on a sparkling knock of 133 by Bose and a half-century each by Palash Nandy and Satyabrata Mukherjee to declare at 362 for six.

In reply, Orissa were all out for 112 to concede a first-innings lead of 250. Following on, the visitors folded up for 174 in the second essay. Vinod Gupta scored a half-century for Orissa in the second innings.
